1st Shift Forklift Operator
Summary
We are seeking eager, energetic, and safe forklift operator candidates to move, load, and unload pallet and cantilever steel 4 feet to 36 feet in length, often within narrow spaces.
Forklift Operators earn $17.00/hour, PLUS offering monthly safety and attendance bonuses.
Forklift Operators are eligible for: medical, dental, and vision insurance; life insurance; matching 401K; vacation, and holiday time; annual merit increases. Waiting period applies.
Our standard hours of operation are Monday – Friday 7:00am – 4:00pm. Overtime hours can apply.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Move, load, and unload pallet and cantilever steel, ranging in length from 4 feet to 36 feet, within narrow spaces.
- Replenish inventory and stage products throughout the plant safely.
- Assist in providing quality control of manufactured parts (must know how to read a tape measure).
- Package steel parts for shipment or storage.
- Report daily production activity accurately.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment at all times.
- Comply with all company Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements, including wearing steel-toe boots/shoes.
- Safely operate forklifts and adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols.
Qualifications
- Must have experience operating forklifts, with a strong emphasis on safety.
- Must know how to read a tape measure for accurate part measurements.
- Ability to work within narrow spaces and handle large steel parts up to 36 feet in length.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow quality control standards.
- Experience working in a manufacturing or warehouse environment preferred.
- Good communication skills and the ability to report production activities clearly.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.
Work / Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs frequently.
- Must be able to stand, walk, and operate forklifts for the majority of the shift.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
- Steel-toe boots/shoes are required; other PPE will be provided.
- Must be able to work Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with potential for overtime hours.
